JUDGE (4): When you do go to school, What school do you attend?
JUDGE (5): Do you do well in school? Do you get good grades?
JUDGE (6): How long have you been living in this country, Julio?
JUDGE (7): Julio, Do you live at home with your parents?
JUDGE (8): What do you mean "sometimes"? Don´t you always stay at home?
JUDGE (9): I see. Now, Julio, do you know why you are here testifying in court today?
JUDGE (10): You mentioned "los norteños". Is that the name of a local gang, Julio?
JUDGE (11): Are you member of a gang, Julio?
JUDGE (12): Julio, this is a confidential proceeding here in Juvenille Court, No one will find out what you testify here today. So, you don´t have to worry about reprisals. I´ll repeat the question: Are you a gang member?
JUDGE (13): Well, he is the minor who is accused of stabbing your friend Paco, and he has a right to be here to hear you testify. But I´m afraid you will have to answer my question, Julio. Are you a gang member?
JUDGE (14): And what gang is that, Julio?
JUDGE (15): How long have you been a member of "Los Vagos", Julio?
JUDGE (16): What did you have to do to become a member of the gang, Julio?

JUDGE (18): Now, I´d like to draw your attention to the night of August 13, the night Paco was stabbed. Do you recall that night, Julio, at about 11:00 p.m.?
JUDGE (19): Where did the stabbing take place, Julio?
JUDGE (20): Do you recall who was present at Roosevelt High School that evenig, August 13 of this year?
JUDGE (21): Were all these people you have just described members of "Los Vagos"?
